****Inaugural 'Meet the Coaches Night' scheduled for September 2, 2008!****
The inaugural "Meet the Coaches Night" will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 6 p.m. in Caird Chapel on the West Campus. Attendance at this program is necessary for all athletes and parents who wish to participate in the 2008-2009 athletic year.
The evening will include introductions of the School Administrators, Athletic Director, Athletic Staff and Coaches. There will be a review of policies and procedures, in regard to student-athletes and parental responsibilities for the 2008-09 athletic season. At the end of the program, there will be an opportunity to meet and speak with the fall coaches.
We are excited to also have a keynote speaker during the evening, Mr. Harry Sheehy, the Chair & Director of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation at Williams College – a Division III school competing in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). The NESCAC has a very similar philosophy to The Albany Academies that encompass academic excellence and high standards for athletics.
Mr. Sheehy is a former Williams College basketball player and has enjoyed a very successful coaching career at Williams as the basketball coach. Harry has recently written the book Raising a Team Player, which teaches athletes lasting values on the field, court and on the bench. We look forward to his insight as we approach another athletic year at the Academies. We'll see you on September 2!
